PTC Congratulates Starks and Carr on FCC Confirmations

Release Date: 1/3/2019

LOS ANGELES (January 3, 2019) – The Parents Television Council offered congratulations to Geoffrey Starks for being confirmed as a new FCC commissioner, and to current FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr on being confirmed to a new term.

“We offer our congratulations to Starks on his new role at the FCC, and to Carr for his new FCC term. The issues they will work on are of utmost importance to American families. Our shared interest in ensuring that children aren’t assaulted by indecent content on the publicly-owned broadcast airwaves, that families have access to accurate TV content ratings, and that TV stations find ways to provide age-appropriate educational programming for children, are crucial to protecting and nurturing children and families. We look forward to working with both of them,” said PTC President Tim Winter.

The Parents Television Council® (www.parentstv.org) is a non-partisan education organization advocating responsible entertainment. It was founded in 1995 to ensure that children are not constantly assaulted by sex, violence and profanity on television and in other media.
