Just ahead of a blizzard, the Montgomery family – work-obsessed father Charles, cold mother Judith, teens Alexander and Jennifer, and little Emily – arrive at their sumptuous cabin for Christmas. But soon, cracks show: Charles is always on the phone on business, Alexander is cruel to his siblings and, feeling lonely and unloved, Judith decides that after the holidays she will seek a divorce. But when a family of strangers, the Tuckers, seek shelter from the storm, the Montgomerys take them in…thus beginning what narrator will remember as “the best Christmas ever!”
