Dr. Delman Coates
is the founder of the Enough Is Enough Campaign for Corporate Responsibility in Entertainment, an organization devoted to encouraging advertisers and
businesses to stop promoting negative and derogatory images of African-Americans in entertainment. Born in Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Coates graduated
magna cum laude
from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, and holds a Master of Divinity degree from Harvard Divinity School, and a Ph.D. in New Testament & Early
Christian Studies from Columbia University.
While pursuing his formal theological training, Dr. Coates was also employed with the Urban League of Eastern
Massachusetts. In addition to heading the EIE Campaign, he is currently pastor of Mt. Ennon Baptist Church in Clinton, MD.
He and his wife Yolanda are the
proud parents of two sons, Nathaniel and Joshua, and twin daughters, Ava Marie and
Leah Blair.
